This actually isn't the first datacenter at OSU, though it's certainly the largest and the most advertised. Depending on how you count it, there are three to six other datacenters spread across campus still, ranging from about ten to thirty years old. The oldest one was in the Milne Computer Center and dated back to the 70s; it was decommissioned two or three years ago.

We wonder how much power the older Milne computer center used. Or the other smaller data centers in comparison to the new one. In all fairness the new data center at OSU, while it is a data center, we realize it's mainly there to support the super computer being built. And is also being designed to redistribute the heat created to heat certain buildings. Still can't find any published or formally announced information if it was changed from 1MW to 2MW's.
