DOWNTOWN: What's Up With "The Plaza"
The Plaza Now Open... $2 tacos?
CORVALLIS, OR - The Plaza, a revitalized mid-century landmark at 425 SW Madison Avenue in downtown Corvallis, officially opened its doors this month, bringing fresh energy and new amenities to the heart of the city. Once the longtime home of a J.C. Penney store, the building has been repurposed into a vibrant gathering place for food, connection, and community events.

After extensive renovation supported by local preservation grants and community partners, The Plaza now serves as a welcoming hub for residents, students from Oregon State University, and visitors alike. The space blends the building’s classic architectural charm with modern touches — including bright interiors, flexible meeting spaces, and an engaging lineup of food-oriented businesses.
“We’re excited to add a new chapter to this historic building,” said one of the owners involved in the project. “The Plaza is more than just a place to eat — it’s where people can connect, create, and celebrate everything that makes downtown Corvallis special.”
