Gateway of Willamette Valley Corvallis, Gateway To Prison
How did they become a credentialed Medicaid provider to submit claims in the State of Oregon?
Medicaid is a joint federal and state health insurance program that provides medical coverage to low-income adults, children, seniors, and people with disabilities.
It is the largest source of funding for medical and health-related services for people with low income in the U.S. It is taxpayer-funded health insurance and helps cover more than 85 million low-income and disabled people.
Let’s rip them off.
Gateway of Willamette Valley, “located” in Corvallis, did just this, according to Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield and the Benton County District Attorney. They have now been charged criminally with Medicaid fraud.
Legal documents are not “super fun” to read. We dove into them, though, and found seven counts listed as “Making False Claim for Health Care Payment.” The offenses are listed as Class C felonies… hmm… this is the least serious class of felony in Oregon.
Not so sure we agree with that.
Like previously stated, Medicaid is there to support low-income adults, children, seniors, and people with disabilities. It takes a certain type to defraud a system that is there to help these groups of people.
The charging document lists 45 Department of Human Services run numbers across the seven felony counts. A Department of Human Services “run number” refers to a unique identifier to a specific payment processing run.
That means this was not a one-time incident, but a pattern of conduct involving 45 claims.
Gateway of Willamette Valley, LLC lists a home address on the business listing. Has no website. Has no phone number. Has no reviews. Has no social media presence.
Have you had an experience with this business? Were there patients? Was it all just a fabricated scheme to make money? How did they become an approved, credentialed Medicaid provider to submit claims in the State of Oregon? We want to hear from you.
