Police chase into the Mary's river...
March 5th
Assault IV / Interfering with a Peace Officer / Depositing Trash in a Waterway / Warrant Arrest- Officers on routine vehicle patrol observed a fight in the 100-block of SW B Ave. A 35-year-old male, no fixed address, ran from officers and jumped into the Marys River. Benton County Marine Deputies and a Corvallis Police K-9 Team deployed on a boat and took the male into custody. The male was the subject of multiple active warrants. Investigation determined he was in the process of assaulting a person when officers arrived on scene, and he was also charged with Assault IV. He was transported to the jail where he was lodged, and a 34-year-old female, no fixed address, who was also involved in the incident was issued a criminal citation for active warrants.
Warrant Arrest- A 34-year-old male, no fixed address, was contacted in the 700-block of SW Madison Ave and subsequently arrested on a felony warrant.
Theft- Officers responded to a store in the 900-block of NW Circle Blvd for a report of a 42-year-old female, Corvallis resident, who was concealing merchandise in her clothing while walking around. The female was known to staff as a previous theft suspect. The female was contacted and subsequently cited in lieu of custody for Theft II.
Menacing / Disorderly Conduct II- Officers responded to a residence in the 5300-block of SW Country Club Dr for a report of a male swinging a baseball bat at the caller. Investigation determined a 32-year-old man, Corvallis resident, had swung a baseball bat at the caller during a display of disorderly behavior. The male was transported to the jail where he was lodged.
Warrant Arrest- Officers contacted a 45-year-old female, no fixed address, near the intersection of SW 4th St and SW Washington Ave, stemming from a complaint of her walking with an open container and cursing. The female had multiple warrants for her arrest. She was arrested, transported to the hospital for jail clearance, and then transported to the jail where she was lodged.
Contempt of Court- Officers responded to a residence in the 3500-block of NE Lancaster St for a welfare check. A 47-year-old female, Corvallis resident, was contacted during the incident who was the subject of an active warrant. At the request of the issuing jurisdiction, she was provided with reporting instructions as opposed to an arrest, and the warrant was cleared as served.
Disorderly Conduct II / Criminal Mischief II- Officers responded to a business in the 300-block of SW 4th St for a report of three males who were accosting other customers and trying to instigate fights. The three males were located at another business in the area. Subsequent to the investigation, a 20-year-old male, Brownsville resident, and a 19-year-old male, Lebanon resident, were issued criminal citations for Disorderly Conduct II and Criminal Mischief II.
Minor in Possession (Alcohol) / Misrepresentation of Age by Minor- An officer contacted a 20-year-old male, Corvallis resident, in the parking lot of a business in the 300-block of NW 4th St after observing him drinking alcohol in public. The male admitted to being underage and additionally admitted to purchasing the alcohol using a fake ID. The fake ID was seized, and the male was issued a citation for MIP and Misrepresentation of Age by a Minor.
Warrant Arrest- An officer contacted a 46-year-old male, no fixed address, at a business in the 100-block of SW Twin Oaks Cir. The male had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was transported to the Law Enforcement Center where he was issued citations.
March 4th
Theft- A volunteer called from the 500-block of SW 4th St to report a subject stole a cell phone from the location. The caller identified the suspect as a 51-year-old female, no fixed address, who walked from the location. Officers located the female in the area, detained her, and located the stolen phone on her person. The phone was returned to the owners, and the female was issued a citation for the theft and released.
Trespass- A security guard called from the 600-block of NW Monroe Ave to report a subject trespassing. Officers arrived at the library, contacted a 20-year-old male, and trespassed him from the property.
Disorderly Conduct II- A customer called from the 2100-block of NW 9th St to report a subject behaving strangely and stating he was “strapped” and carrying a firearm. Officers arrived in the area, but the suspect, a 23-year-old male, Corvallis resident, was no longer present. The officer developed probable cause for Disorderly Conduct and began to search for the suspect. He was later located, arrested, issued a citation for the offense, and released.
Criminal Trespass I / Interfering with a Police Officer / Warrant Arrest- An officer was on patrol when they observed a subject running away from the area, down the railroad tracks in the 1900-block of NE Four Acre Pl. The officer developed probable cause for Criminal Trespass I and yelled for the subject to stop. The male, later identified as a 34-year-old male, no fixed address, continued to run from the officer, jumping fences into private property. The male was eventually contacted and arrested. When he was identified, the officer learned he had multiple warrants for his arrest. The male was arrested and booked into jail.
Theft- Caller reported a package was stolen off the porch of their residence in the 500-block of NW 8th St. The suspect was not identified.
Warrant Arrest- An officer contacted a 37-year-old male, no fixed address, near SW Western Blvd and SW Philomath Blvd. The male had a warrant for his arrest and was issued a citation.
Criminal Mischief- An officer took a report of a window that was smashed with a rock at a business in the 1100-block of SW Crystal Lake Dr. There was no suspect information.
March 3rd
Criminal Trespass- An employee called from the 1500-block of NW 9th St to report a subject screaming at staff and customers outside the business. The caller asked for the subject to be trespassed from the business. An officer arrived and contacted the subject a 52-year-old female, Coos Bay resident. She was provided with a trespass notice and left the area.
Harassment- Caller wanted to make a report of ongoing harassment between themselves and a 39-year-old male, no fixed address. The responded officer learned the suspect male was on probation, and a condition of that probation was no contact with the caller. The investigation will be forwarded to Linn County Parole and Probation for their consideration.
Violent Conduct- Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 1300-block of NW Kings Blvd for a report of an argument between a male and female. A 47-year-old male, Corvallis resident, and a 37-year-old female, Albany resident, were identified as the individuals involved. The female reported the male punched the window and kicked the door of her vehicle after she flipped off the male for honking at her. The male stated the female was parked in an area she was not allowed to park in at the complex, and struck a fence while backing up. The male honked at the female, and she exited her vehicle while yelling at him. The female spit toward the male and had a bat in her hand. Video evidence corroborated the male’s statement, and the female was issued a criminal citation for Violent Conduct.
Warrant Arrest- A 45-year-old male, no fixed address, was contacted at SW 2nd St and SW Western Blvd. The male had a warrant for his arrest and was issued a citation in lieu of custody.
Reckless Burning- Officer discovered a small, unattended warming fire near a business in the 100-block of SW Twin Oaks Cir. The officer extinguished the fire.
Warrant Arrest- While on an unrelated call for service in the 100-block of SW Twin Oaks Cir, an officer contacted a 38-year-old male, no fixed address, who was wanted for a shoplifting incident. He was issued a citation in lieu of custody.
March 2nd
Criminal Trespass- A property manager called from the 1800-block of NW Circle Blvd to request a subject in an RV to be trespassed from the property. The officer arrived at the location, contacted a 46-year-old male, no fixed address, and trespassed him from the property.
Failure to Register as a Sex Offender- A parks employee called for assistance dealing with a confrontational suspect at the Skate Park. Officers responded to the area and contacted a 47-year-old male, no fixed address, who calmed down and agreed to leave the area. During the contact, the officers learned the male was a sex offender and was out of compliance with his registration. He was issued a citation and left the area.
Failure to Register as a Sex Offender- A 52-year-old male, Philomath resident, arrived at the Law Enforcement Center to renew his sex offender registration and staff discovered he was out of compliance. An officer contacted the male, issued him a citation, and he completed his registration then left the building.
Criminal Trespass- A caller reported a neighbor was refusing to leave his property in the 800-block of NW Oak Ave. Officers responded to the location and contacted a 34-year-old male, Corvallis resident, and trespassed him from the caller’s property.
Warrant Arrest- Officers responded to a residence in the 200-block of SW Wake Robin Ave for a report of a theft. The caller reported her ex-boyfriend stole her backpack and left the area on foot. The male was located and identified as a 43-year-old male, Corvallis resident. The male did not have a backpack with him, but did have a warrant for his arrest. The caller located her backpack, so there was not probable cause to arrest the male for theft, but he was issued a citation in lieu of custody for the warrant.
Warrant Arrest- A 67-year-old male, no fixed address, was contacted in the 400-block of NW Van Buren Ave. The male had a warrant for his arrest and was issued a citation in lieu of custody.
Criminal Trespass- Caller reported a male was on the property of his business in the 2000-block of NW Circle Blvd after he had previously been trespassed. The suspect was identified as a 45-year-old male, no fixed address, and it was confirmed he had been trespassed from the property. The male was taken into custody, transported to the Law Enforcement Center, and issued a criminal citation for Criminal Trespass II.
Theft- Caller reported their bicycle was stolen outside of a business in the 900-block of NW Circle Blvd. No suspect was identified.
Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants- Officers responded to the area of NE Hwy 99W and NE Conifer Blvd for a report of a male driver passed out in his vehicle at the intersection. Officers located the vehicle, and the male was still passed out in the driver’s seat. Officers woke up the male and observed he appeared intoxicated. The male was taken into custody for DUII and Reckless Driving after performing SFSTs. The male was lodged at the jail.
Misrepresentation of Age- A local bar employee in the 100-block of SW 2nd St reported a potential patron attempted to use a fake ID to enter the bar, and the ID was seized. The patron also called dispatch to report the bar took his ID, but when the bar employee told the patron they knew the ID was fake and they had also called the police, the patron decided to leave before police arrived.
Reported Unlawful Use of a Vehicle- Victim reported a person known to her had just left in her truck without her permission from the 100-block of SW Wake Robin Ave. The vehicle and suspect were located in the neighborhood, and investigation determined he has used the vehicle in the past, and the victim only wanted the vehicle returned and no charges. He returned the vehicle.
